His Presence and Peace for 2012

as the year comes to a close, receive My peace. this is still your deepest need. and i, your Prince of Peace, am waiting to pour Myself into you to meet this need. your emptiness and My abundance are a perfect match.

i created you as a jar of clay, designed for holy use. don't try to fill yourself with things from this world. i want you to be filled with My Presence and Peace.

thank Me for My peaceful Presence, no matter how you are feeling right now. whisper My name in tender love. worship Me in songs of praise. and My Peace, which already lives in your spirit, will work its way through every bit of  you-little by little.

this was my Jesus calling devotion this morning. oh how i need to hear this. i sometimes find myself trying to fill a void with the things of this world and not with the only One who can actually fill it. i find myself  in a most peaceful place when i've really focused on my relationship with the Lord. but sometimes i let the outside take hold of me and tell me things that i know not to be the Truth.

we are just coming out of the most wonderful season as we celebrated the birth of our Savior. i tried, really tried to focus on the Giver and not the gifts this year...but i have to say i did get overwhelmed. there were last minute things to purchase to make sure everyone was bought for. but when i really sit down to think about it, weren't we all bought for? isn't that why He came? to pay the price for us? our deepest need isn't the newest electronic device or the perfect outfit, it's to be filled with His peace.

i pray in 2012 that i would focus more on letting go of the things in this world that don't matter and having more room to allow God to fill me, every bit of me, with his presence and peace.

peace i leave with you; my peace i give you

Amanda, thank you so much for sharing this. I am going to commit to working on allowing God to work in my life to be the kind of person He wants me to be. Thanks for the motivation. Jan
